At Precision Pilates Academy we teach the authentic Joseph Pilates ‘Contrology’ Method one-to-one.
Our instructors will guide you through the foundational building blocks of the method, apparatus will be introduced to deepen your understanding, assisting with the refinement of your technique. Your experience at our Classical Pilates studio is personalised to your needs, under the expert guidance of our instructors.
HOW TO BEGIN
Your instructor will introduce you to the work progressively, they will assess the health of your body by observing your biomechanics whilst performing a movement, or through communicating by asking specific questions.
From your initial session, you will begin on the reformer and mat, following a basic sequence of exercises. Your instructor will continually observe how your body moves, giving support when required, or correcting your alignment where needed.
With regular practice, you will begin to experience the key elements of the Contrology method, including:
‘The Scoop’
‘The Two-Way Stretch’
‘Precision and Control of Movement’
These phrases will become common to you; when your muscle memory kicks in, you will understand the concept of mind and body alignment.
Apparatus will be introduced into your sessions, these may include the Chairs, Barrels or the Cadillac to improve, assist or strengthen key areas of your body. Each exercise on these pieces of equipment, are carefully selected and arranged within a precise system, creating a clear and thoughtful progression that develops strength, suppleness, and control throughout your body.
